The University of Surrey and the StoryFutures unit at Royal Holloway, University of London, have had their funding confirmed to be the home of a new innovative PhD programme for inclusive AI.
The announcement is part of a £118 million boost to AI skills funding announced by the UK government which includes the naming of 12 Centres for Doctoral Training in AI. This will ensure the country has the top global expertise and fosters the next generation of researchers needed to seize the transformational benefits of this technology.
Osborne Clarke is supporting the University of Surrey and has helped to formulate the initial priority areas of study for its PHD which include best practice guidance on digital inclusion for legal teams and business, AI literacy and inclusion, and data for good.
