The Deloitte Predictions publication is launched on this day, so we are excited to hear from Paul first hand. UK Electronic Communications Code: case updates from 2020 and industry insights
Industry expert Carlos Pierce, Head of Strategic Legal Projects & The Code Programme at Cornerstone, will provide an overview of the Speed Up Britain campaign and the drivers for, and importance of, this campaign for connectivity in the UK. Osborne Clarke’s property disputes team will take a look at three recent cases under the Electronic Communications Code, and provide the learnings to take forwards.

Standard Essential Patents and FRAND terms
The UK Supreme Court has agreed that in principle a global licence of Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) is fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) and that the English courts have jurisdiction to determine royalty rates and other terms of a global SEP licence. In its landmark recent judgment in Unwired Planet v Huawei, the Supreme Court ruled on how patented technology should be licensed to equipment manufacturers accessing telecommunications standards. Arty Rajendra, UK Head of IP Disputes at Osborne Clarke and co-counsel for the successful party, Unwired Planet, will be joined in conversation with Senior Associate Anna Rawlings to discuss how this affects telecoms operators and users of IoT.

How the European Electronic Communications Code has been implemented in the UK and across Europe
